Hey 1G!

It's the last day of 2009! Can you believe this year has passed so quickly? Seems like just yesterday we were all little blur sotongs to the world of Sec 1, and now here we are, just as blur, but venturing into Sec 2. I guess I'm gonna have to get used to saying 2G instead of 1.

Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all a very happy new year, and thank you for being the best possible class I could ever ask for (: I think our class is one of the most bonded, and everything that we've done and gone through this year has been so fun. I know that next year's gonna be even better :D

And also, LOTS OF NEW STUFF TO PROPOSE. I'm making a new blogskin for the new year, and I'm using our class photo (I haven't decided between informal and buddy shots).

We (sorry that we thought about this without the rest of you, but we're not saying the decision is final) also thought that maybe next year we could be 2 Groovy Grapes, in which case the class tee design has been thought of (a disco ball at the back with 30 little grapes possibly with afros dancing at the bottom).

And our class verse could be the 'I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remins in me- and I in him- bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing'- John 15:5. I'm just saying that cos it's kinda to do with the whole grapes thing.

Of course, none of these decisions have been made yet, just ideas (: Oh and what should our new URL be? Should I wait till we decide on class theme first, or just change it to something generic, like twogee.bs or something?

Sorry that I'm going so crazy with all this stuff, I'M JUST REALLY REALLY EXCITED FOR NEXT YEAR :D :D

Well, I feel somewhat obliged to post this. No reason, actually. I also feel obliged to mention that we didn't clear the cupboards or the teacher's table drawers. And rearrange the tables.

This year flew by really really quickly, like even faster than last year. Hm... yeaah. Oh, and the funfair. I hope it was fun for you, because I ate a lot and I was really satisfied... really happy. But I think it was different for you.

Okay at the funfair on friday, we'll be running some games stalls...and we have to come up with at least 1 game... but two would be good too. :)

So could you think of some ideas for the games, and remember the theme is All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small. We'll discuss it in class tomorrow, but think of some ideas first okay :D

How are your long weekends coming along? How's art? (:

The Beijing briefing yesterday was very boring -.- And the parents asked A LOT of questions. Sigh. Dang, I really hope that Aly and Bev can come to Beijing D: Actually, I didn't even know that Aly wasn't going until like, now. Sigh.

Honestly, what is wrong with China Airlines/Air China? Was there some huge plane crash that happened with it that I've never heard of? People dying of food poisoning? Pilots falling asleep!? If no, I don't see what the big deal with it is, because half of the stuff we have here is made in China, most of us here have ancestors made in China, so why is everyone so freaking against China?!

Tsk tsk. It's nationalist, and all in your heads. Air China/ China Airlines may not be as 'high class' as SQ, and the entertainment services not as wonderful, but think of it this way- we're going with a group of like 60 girls. We are going to be our own entertainment, don't worry.

The content found on Textbook, pages 92 to 97 will not be included in the examination.
The additional content taught in class for plate tectonics as well as describing the climate based on a climograph will also be examinable.
Please note that there are three case studies in the Textbook which serve to reinforce three themes - !Kung Bushmen (adaptation to a harsh physical environment - hot desert), Mt Merapi (adapting to a dangerous physical environment - active volcano) & River Nile (adapting to living along a river).
Only the Sophia Blackmore classes will be examined on their skill to draw a contour cross-section from a topographic map in Section B.

Be-Yourself Day, ah, the much anticipated day of the year, right? Anyway this years theme is Circus, which is, to me, due to certain circumstances, a fantastic theme. As compared to ... Fairy Tales or whatever.
So something to do with circus-that is, clowns...
by the way, it's not scary at all! I fear clowns and I don't find this scary at all (there are scarier songs out there...)

No, actually, be-yourself-day is an excuse to post this song up here. Has to be school related to at least a certain extent, right?

The commons are over. We have gotten back two papers yesterday - maths and -chinese. No matter what your result is/was, don't be discouraged and continue to work hard. Tests are over and we can now rejoice ~~with~~ ~~e-learning homework~~.

Just a year ago, we were the ones taking our first PSLE exam - oral- and were in our respective schools feeling nervous and anxious. But today, we are here in MGS as one class - the most awesome and bonded class forever.

History: Artistic Achievements and Contact and interaction (for contact and interaction, it is going to be SBQ so no need to memorise the info for that)

Chinese: 1A 08 and 1B 28

Math: Algebra, number patterns, problem solving and Area and perimeter

Chemistry: Elements, compounds and mixtures [edit] as well as bunsen burner (luminous/non-luminous flames, strikeback)

Lit: PBQ on AF and poetry (like answering questions based on the poem)

Life Science: still not said

So far we know, bio, physics and half of chinese results..... which have been quite fine I guess..... Hope everything for our awesome class will be smooth going. heyho!

okay, we don't have that much HW today...

we only have philo, which actually is not even due this week(unless she still wants us to hand it in) seeing as friday has taken over thursday!! NO IT = NO WATCHING SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS!

anyway, for those of you who haven't finished/didn't bring your bio practical book B today, you have to hand it up tomorrow IN THE MORNING!

and, erm math i guess if you want to do it though Mrs Hor said you can just do it during math period in school as she gave 2 days for each learning centre

SS project: form groups and make sure that you plan your newspaper (again, may not/probably not due this week)

oh and P1 registration form due tomorrow or something i think ( -NIL- return required!)

also for LA, if your group has not finished the FFA characteristic traits thingy, finish by i guess tomorrow? not sure... and this week, our NO LA day has been cancelled! waah!

Ok, this is our 25th post. 5 more from 30.... :) Hmm, parent-teacher meeting was just over. To answer claire's question, ( if you are asking about the post reading activity thingy) the 1st assignment is due on the 21 May, Thursday, and the 2nd on 1 July, Wednesday. If I'm not wrong, it's on the paper itself. Yes, I just said itself, but it's kind of necessary right, maybe not....

ok, i'm posting :)

erm , to answer bern's questions,

1. We only have the chinese test, geography test is on the monday after good friday and the science exams (bio and physics) are on 6th may, the info are on the letter that was given out to us yesterday

2. For chinese, we are being tested on 雨中 and 一蓝黄菊. And for geog, we are going to be tested on map reading..... But i'm not sure for bio and physics, i guess whatever we have been taught so far ^^

3. the chinese zhou ji is due on monday 06.04.09

4. ms yang didn't exactly say how many words minimum but she said around one paragraph

can anyone tell me when the post-reading thing is due?
